Cowie Leads Hermitage Operations for Deloitte

Recently, Graham Cowie has been chosen to lead Hermitage operations for Deloitte (News - Alert) and will oversee more than 1,000 employees of the company that comprise its shared services group.

Cowie will retain his current responsibilities as controller of Deloitte and succeeds Ken Gerdesmeier, who has retired.

"The Hermitage office serves important roles in Deloitte's achievements in the Tennessee marketplace and around the world. Under Graham's leadership, I know we will continue to provide exceptional service.”

As a controller of Deloitte, Cowie is responsible for leading the finance and accounting groups. The shared services group includes professionals in finance and accounting, information technology and call center support. This group also includes professionals in human resources and financial advisory services.

Cowie has worked with Deloitte for more than 17 years and prior to this position, he served in Deloitte's audit business and the healthcare industry sector practice for a long period.He is experienced in many areas such as financial reporting and general accounting, payroll, receivables and asset reporting.

Cowie has a bachelor's degree in commerce and accounting from South Africa’s University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg.

Deloitte was in news earlier this year for releasing its annual holiday survey that indicates 56 percent of consumers surveyed in Los Angeles expect the economy to improve in 2013.
